The center takes the lead to begin the technology of nerve intervention therapy in Dandong with strong technical force . Interventional Neuroradiology is the important part of Minimally Invasive Neurology , by which cerebrovascular and spinal vascular diseases can be treated , with the characteristics like small wound ,little complication , high curative effect . It’s a new science developing and forming on the basis of neuroimagine (CT, MRI , DSA etc.),microcatheter technology , computer science .
Nowadays Neurology Dept. can ensure the ischemic cerebrovascular diseases by digital substraction angiography (DSA). The balloon dilatation stent ,artery thrombolytic therapy of hyperacute cerebral infarction , DSA diagnosis and intervention thrombolytic therapy of sinus thrombosis , hypertension cerebral hemorrhage minimally invasive therapy meet the provincial advanced standard.
Neurosurgery Intervention Technology
Nerve intervention is a kind of technology to diagnose and treat with the nerve system vascular diseases etc. performed within the vessels under DSA ,with minimal wound , short operation time , high successive and positive curative effect and advantages that traditional examination , medication therapy and traditional operation can’t replace . The Neurosurgery Dept. has the neurointervention technology such as:
1. digital substraction angiography (DSA)
DAS can detect the positions of thrombosis , vascular occlusion , vascular stenosis , cerebral aneurysm , cerebral artery and vein malformation etc. ,providing the accurate basis for interventional treatment.
2. intracranial aneurysm embolization
It’s a new method to treat intracranial aneurysm embolization , replacing the traditional craniotomy .

① cavernous fistulas : balloon making and embolization. Most of traumatic cavernous fistulas can be cured completely and the complicated spontaneous cavernous fistulas can be improved mostly.
② Cranial artery & vein malformation and fistulas: apron embolization , gelfoam embolization and GDC embolization . Most of the patients can be cured.
③ Moyamoya: It can be diagnosed clearly by clarifying the lesion scope , degree and nature , offering the basis for the operation and medical therapy .
④ Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis : thrombolytic therapy and stents therapy ,with obvious curative effect.
⑤ Intracranial tumor and neck tumor rich in blood : postoperative thrombolytic technology which can reduce the blood loss during the operation and increase the operative security.
